Feb. 26th –

Thirty years ago, with the contents of a paperback called “Trainer Profiling” percolating in my mind, I set about to improve upon John Whitaker’s astute observations and was given a leg up by the Apple 2C Personal Computer and a subscription to the Eastern Region Result Charts on microfilm.

Fast forward to 2021 and all of the hard work and tens of thousands of rows of data in a spreadsheet 36 columns wide has paid off once again, but this time in a way that even the biggest Doubting Thomas’ could not deny.

In the 4th on Wednesday, Motion presented with a 1-38 angle, gleaned from 13 years of record keeping. He went postward at $3.30-1 with only a 2.6% chance of winning.

That left Yanez’s Classy Woman, a 7YO that has bombed here more times than you have fingers and with a 12 & 25 multiple angle, Delacour’s Curly Ruth, with above par singles but only 12% Win (21-173) when not the favorite off the Layoff (7 years of data), and the favorite, Kenneally’s Don’t Blame Judy, with a 22 & 52 multiple angle in L5T.

My $50 weighted 5-8-9 Exacta Box, to my surprise, left only $5 to bet on the 8/5 combination of the 6 bets, but the $5 bet returned $394.

Multiple Angle Trainer Profiling has proven itself and I will never regret my lifelong fidelity to its principles.

It is a rare exception when there is any feedback from subscribers or the hundreds of day trippers on FREE PLAY WEDNESDAYs and there wasn’t any this time either. Sometimes you got to be your own hero.

Way to go Johnny B! Nice job on that $27 Pick Four that paid $8299 too!

I’ve said my piece. It started as a personal journey and it will end as a personal journey, I suppose. So it goes…

*****

Over the Festival weekend, action players had a $158 Exacta for a $6 bet and a $266 Trifecta for a $48 bet. As always, the only question that matters is: “which one(s) did you have?” So it goes…

In week 1 (Nov.25-28) we did more watching then betting, but our only Best Bet won $6.40 and our only ATB play was 2nd. Action players had two wins, two 2nds, 2 exactas ($35 & 52.20) and more near misses than planes trying to land at O’Hare in a blizzard on Christmas Eve. So it goes…

April 28th, 2020 – Out of concern for the safety of all TBD employees, I stopped wagering on April 2nd (in protest of the track staying open), but since then we’ve had $2875 in winning selections (based on $2 tickets) including a Pick 4, six Trifectas and ten other exotics. So it goes…

*****

April 2nd, 2020 – We end the meeting with a 15% profit, collecting $10,984 on $9545 in wagers, after Florida is locked down through April 30th. So it goes… But wait! They remain open! I’m not gambling anymore in protest of the track staying open but my selections continue to be available. Best luck to all!

******

April 1st, 2020 – These days we are counting the number of sick, dying and dead. It’s inappropriate to be counting money right now. Be safe, be well, be entertained. The TBD Handicapper continues. So it goes…

******

March 18th – We’re just a few days into the bold response and it’s already impacting the livelihood of family and friends. Surely, you will likely be affected in a similar fashion. In response, for the time being, we’re gonna limit all our action to just a few bucks, hoping to push attention and focus to those around us who may need our emotional and financial support during the crisis. Please help those around you who are in need. Better days are ahead. So it goes…

*****

From Feb. 12th to Feb. 26th we made 28 bets, wagered $1317 and collected $2061.60. So it goes….

Christmas Week was a mixed bag. We bet $152 on Thursday and collected $490, on Friday we lost a nice $11.20 winner in a well mismanaged exotic scheme (see R8 Emmett’s Dream), on Saturday I had no BOLD TYPE action and on Sunday our $10 trifecta all button play saw our 2nd position key run 3rd. On Sunday, Kevin’s $15 Early Pick 4 popped for $247.90. So it goes…

******

The week before Christmas there were no gifts. Our ATB play was 2nd at 6-1 and our three exotics let us down. There was no action on “Fun Money Saturday” and Sunday was cancelled due to weather. So it goes…

******

The week of Dec. 11,12 & 14, we were 2-2 Win and 2-4 in Exotics but still came up a few dollars short after all the value was sucked out of our biggest winning wagers of the weekend by the 2-5 favorite Wildwood Beauty in the 3rd on Saturday. So it goes…

********

Week two (Dec. 4,6 & 7) our three win bets went 2nd (2-1), 3rd (13-1) and 6th (6-1). Our eight exotic plays crashed and burned courtesy, essentially, of both favorites tanking in the Inaugural and the Sandpiper. (I said baby race day is my least favorite day of the meeting.) So it goes…

On Friday and Saturday, we made only a few bets with our Pick 3 finishing 1-1-3, and our two trifecta part-wheels ending in 1-3-2 and 2-1-3 finishes. So it goes…

The final (abbreviated) week of the regular meeting, we made one prime wager ($380) on a Keith Nations runner with a 40% Win and 60% ITM angle. We were looking for 5-2 and got 7-2 (not a good sign). It was a dud. So it goes…

*****

****

This past week, we had only two prime wagers. One did not meet the conditions and the other was modified via twitter (an exacta became an $67 ATB play) returning $335 for the place. So it goes…

****

We made only one prime wager in the last 7 race days (March 29th to April 7th), an exacta that ran 1-3, but a whopping $5877 return on our $96 Late Pick 4 action play on Saturday April 6th was enough to keep the juices flowing. So it goes…

****

These past four race days (March 20-March 27) we had 5 trifectas averaging $240 each, 3 Exactas averaging $58, 2 DDs and 3 Winners. Our $100 trifecta wager was headed out of a win on Wednesday and on Bet Against day, 6 of 8 lived up to expectations. So it goes…

These past 20 race days, Feb. 13th – March 17th, we wagered $2390 and collected $2379.10. So it goes…

This past week (Feb 27th – March 3rd) we had $1400 in Did Not Meet the Conditions and/or Scratched plays. On the action side, we had a couple of nice trifectas: $228.20 on Saturday and $422.20 on Sunday. So it goes…

*****

In the past two weeks (Feb. 13th to Feb. 24th) on the action side we had 12 exactas averaging $21.20 and an $825 trifecta, but when we laid the $$$ in we had an unprecedented run of only 2 Winners from 14 Favorites (both odds-on) and 17 losing exotic wagers. It’s a miracle we still have 62% of our original $5000 bankroll. Wednesday, the base wager becomes $150. So it goes…

****

The week of Feb. 6 – Feb. 10th everything turned around. We cashed 11 of 17 exotics for an $1855.40 return on $1157 wagered and marking the 3rd consecutive profitable week. So it goes…

****

Last week, we had $100 to win on a 2-1 winner on Wednesday, a $402.20 action play return on a $48 Pick 3 on Saturday, and on Sunday another action play winner, a $141.60 trifecta return on a $24 wager. So it goes…

****

The weekend of Jan. 25-27 our action plays clicked or just missed in 11 of 16 races and our only prime play of the week did some alchemy, turning a 2-5 winner into an 1-1 return with the greatest of ease. So it goes…

****

Another week passes without a winner (Jan. 16-20).  Seven exotics and two Win bets and nothing to show for our effort. Plenty of action play winners but whose counting (them). So it goes…

****

The weekend of Jan 11, 12 and 13 we made 5 exotic plays and two win bets and just like that 25% of our $5000 bankroll is now in the hands of others. Our new base wager will be $175 on Wednesday as we work our way out from behind the 8-Ball. So it goes…

****

On Wednesday, Jan. 9th we were out $1000 when Mr. Bennett’s piece was caught at the wire in R2. So it goes…

****

The first weekend of the new year, we had a cancelled play on Friday (odds wrong), no action on Saturday and a scratch on Sunday. So it goes…

****

On Wed., Jan 2nd our solitary play in the 3rd (and the favorite) decided to stop in the backstretch and that was that. So it goes…

****

On Sunday, Dec. 30th we had no action. So it goes…

****

On Saturday, Dec 29th, we went off our biggest wager when Salmiana scratched in R2, sucking the value out of the exacta pool. Our R4 exacta box tanked, but in the nitecap our ATB choice returned $348 for $60 bet. So it goes…

*****

On Fri., Dec 28th our two exotics ran 2-1-1 (R3 Pick 3) and the DD ran 1-3 (R6 & 7). So it goes…

******

Racing was cancelled on Friday, Dec. 21st and on Saturday, the 22nd we had no action. So it goes…

*******

On Wednesday, Dec. 19th, we were close but did not get the cigar. Tsirigotis’ piece in the 3rd, with a ML of 7-2 went post-ward at 6-1 and if life didn’t get in the way, that wager just might have become an across the board play on Mighty Mini who paid nicely for place and show. But racing shouldn’t get in the way of life (unless of course, the returns would be 20-1 or greater). So it goes…

*****

On Saturday, Dec. 15th we went off our solitary $$$ play when an outlier in R5 took all the money. Another bullet saved for another day. So it goes…

*****

On Friday, Dec. 14th our solitary play won handily but did not meet the condition of 2-1, going postward at 1-1. So it goes…

*****

We had no action on Free Play Wednesday, Dec. 12th. So it goes…

*****

On Saturday, a nice win in R3 yielded a $921 return on a $155 wager. So it goes….

****

On Friday, Dec. 7th, a comedy of errors cost me $150, when I cancelled my 5th race play for several reasons via Twitter, but the tweet only went to @twitter (see the retweet minutes later). Mistakes are the bane of every gamblers existence. Mea culpa! So it goes…

****

On Wednesday, Dec. 5th,  we were saved by a click, when our win bet in the 7th (Muggsamatic) was 2nd by a head at 9-2 when we insisted on no more than 7-2.  Sometimes a click goes your way. So it goes…

****

On Saturday, in demanding a couple of clicks of action on our key runner, we sacrificed a nice 7-2 return in the 7th when our New Jersey John exacta clicked ($28.20) but the gelding would not budge from the ML of 6-1. So it goes…

****

On Friday, Nov. 30th we had no betting action. So it goes…

****

On Wednesday, November 28th our Favorite + angle fell apart when our selection in the 7th was the 2nd choice in the wagering and our front runner dueled to a +10 early before the pair gave out. So it goes…

****

On Opening Day 2, our $242 Win/Exotic play in the 8th & 9th yielded a profit of $18. So it goes…

****

But the 2018-2019 meeting begins nicely with our solitary $50 wager returning $1055.00 in the late DD. So it goes…

****

Well the 2017-2018 meeting ends with a humbling, complete wipeout. When it rains it pours. So it goes…

*****

We look to end the meeting on a high note: See June 30th selections.

*****

The past two weeks (April 11-29) we made eight wagers for $2025 and collected $1742.40. So it goes…

****

The week of April 11th was a wash, with no action on the off track Wed., a big win bet that ran 2nd a head on Friday, and with 1 of 2 exotics clicking over the weekend for a $310 loss for the week. So it goes…

****

A wild week after Easter. We were 2 for 6 with our exotics, wagering $1346 and collecting $1058.50. So it goes…

****

****

On Friday, March 28th our prime structured exotic play of $343 returned $395, but a bomb in race 8 killed four $400 tickets we were live to in the DD. So it goes…

****

On Free Play Wednesday, March 28th action players had three DDs and a triple from only five plays. So it goes…

****

This past week (March 17-March 25th) we had a big payout on Saturday (the 24th) in the 9th when our $175 weighted DD returned $1436, making us just a winner away from profitability at the meeting. So it goes…

****

On Friday, March 16th, we had four DDs and the winner of the 6th, Banjo Bill ($6.20). So it goes…

****

****

Wed. March 7-Sunday March 11  As expected, things turned around this week. We had 10 exotics and 5 Winners this week, including the $59.40 Exacta in R5 on Saturday. So it goes…

****

March 4th – a mid-season slump (since Feb. 23rd) has seen our fortunes swing from +20% to -37%. I’d say it’s a good time to get in as things tend to turn around. So it goes…

****

On Thursday, Feb.22nd, action players were 4 for 5 with the Early DD, 2nd race Exacta, the 4th race Trifecta, and the 7th race Exacta. So it goes…

****

On Free Play Wednesday, Feb. 21st, we structured a 4 race (two Pick 3 wager – 63 bets) that broke even when the saver covered. So it goes…

****

The week of Feb. 14th-18th was pretty rough, with both exotic plays being sunk by the chalk, while the longer pieces did their jobs. Action players caught a $580 trifecta on Saturday and the last Pick 3 on Sunday for $119.80. So it goes…

****

It was a tough weekend highlighted by our summary dismissal of the 3/5 favorite Catholic Boy in the Sam F. Davis in favor of the all button (for a $22.60 Winner). Action players were 6 for 18, all short. Our two big exotic plays failed to fire, returning us to even for the meeting. So it goes…

**** On Wednesday, Feb 7th, our $350 play was downsized after they were taken off the turf, but the surviving $188 wager returned $388.40. So it goes… **** On Superbowl Sunday, action players had the 3rd race DD $47.00 and the 5th race DD $27.40. Our $250 Win wager in the 8th failed to meet the condition by two clicks (and was 2nd). So it goes… **** On Saturday, Feb. 3rd, we bet $500 on five races and cashed in three for $721.30. Mr. Pick Four’s $18 early Pick Four wager returned $783.70. So it goes… **** On Friday, Feb. 2nd, we had no action. So it goes… **** On Wed. Jan. 31st, $16 got you $348 when we crushed the 4th race exacta. So it goes… **** This past week, Jan.24th-28th, we had no big $$$ wagers, but action players caught three (3) Pick Four’s  which returned $729.70 for $118 wagered. We were 7-22 overall this week. So it goes… **** Over the weekend (Jan. 19-21) action players were 8 for 25 with the highlight being the $570 tri in R10 on Sunday (for the $48) wager. Our only big bet of the weekend (an exacta in R3 on Sunday) ran 1-3 with the odds-on favorite flattening out badly late. It happens. So it goes… **** On Sunday and Wednesday, Mr. Pick Four clicked back to back with $787 and $514 Pick 4s. That’s number 5 and 6 at the meeting. So it goes.. **** On Saturday, our biggest bet of the day ($75 ATB) clicked when Dubull won an paid $35.80, returning $2130.00. So it goes… **** Friday, Jan 12th pissed me off. Our $200 Pick 3 in race 1 was dependent on them being OFF THE TURF, they were on the Turf at 12:25 but off the turf after the 5th. Our play clicked for $550, but the condition was not met (until later in the day). So it goes… **** On Wednesday, Jan. 10th our $200 DD Wheel clicked but not for 5-2 as demanded, returning only 6-5. Homey don’t play that. So it goes… **** On Sunday, Jan. 7th, action players had the winner of the 4th $18.20 and the Late Pick 4 $86.60 (on the $32 wager). So it goes… **** On Saturday, Jan. 6th, our $300 ATB play finished an up close 3rd at $8.60-1 and returned $230. Action players had the 8th race exacta $53.60 and the 10th race DD $108.80.  So it goes… **** We had no action of Friday, Jan 5th. So it goes… **** The new year (Jan. 3rd) begins with a off track/off the turf day in which action players caught two short exactas in races 2 & 6 and the late Pick 4 which returned $135.05 on the $60 wager. So it goes… **** On Sunday, we caught the 8th race exacta for $126.40 and were necked out with our $6.50-1 ATB play in the 10th. It returned $5.40 for 2nd and $3.60 for 3rd. Our big money exacta play was scrapped once again when it did not meet the condition, returning even money when 2-1 was demanded (two scratches didn’t help the prices). So it goes… **** On Saturday. Dec. 30th, the writing (in chalk) was on the wall, so I had no action. So it goes…. **** On Friday, Dec. 29th, one click was all it took to cancel our big exacta wager in race 2 which required 5-2 on Bennett’s Moment in the Wind. It went off 3-1 and the runner up took the missing $0.40 in action. So it goes… **** On Wed., Dec. 27th we had three exactas R1 $35, R4 $20.80, R8 $52.20, three short winners, we were nosed out of the 7th trifecta and called the bomb in the 10th (and Hemingway specifically). So it goes… **** On Saturday, Dec. 23rd, our two prime plays were both 2nd, in R1 $9.60 and R8 $8.20. So it goes…. **** On Friday, Dec. 22nd, we aborted in the 7th when the board was not supportive and missed with the favorite in the nitecap. So it goes… **** On Wed., Dec 20th action players cashed in Races 1 $48.80 Exacta, 2 $40.60 DD & 3 $38.80 Exacta, but the machine gun overheated and failed to fire any further. So it goes… **** On Saturday, Mr. Pick Four popped with the Late P4 for $502 on his $24 wager. Johnny don’t play babies but he did have the winner of the boys division in the Florida Sire Stakes for 3YOs, Mo Cash, $4.80. So it goes… **** On Friday, Dec. 15th we were live to a $900 Pick 3 in the 6th, but Tiz Samurai weakened after dueling with one early and another late. So it goes… **** On Wednesday,  Dec. 13th, action players had an $18.00 when American Luxury won going away in the 4th. So it goes… **** Last week (Dec. 6-9) we had only action play on Wednesday, and rain put us off $500 of prime plays on Friday and Saturday. So it goes… **** On Saturday, Dec. 2nd, our big ATB play did not meet the condition ($5.70-1 versus $8-1) and was 2nd returning $7.00 and 4.80. So it goes… ***** On Friday, Dec 1st, action players caught an $82.60 exacta in the 8th. Our big exotic play was upset and our win bet ran 2nd. So it goes… **** On Wed. Dec 1st we were off a couple of chalky duds, but only cashed with an $82 Exacta action play in R8. So it goes… ***** On Wed. Nov. 29th our 4th race P3 went down in flames when Taipan’s Advantage stumbled at the start, then we called a nice late P3 but demanded favoritism from our single, didn’t get it and Outrank (the 2nd choice) won anyway. So it goes… ***** On Opening Day 2.0 subscribers had 6 winners from 9 action play selections. Short on profit but long on fun! So it goes…. ***** We begin the new meeting with a $541 profit on our solitary wager of the day, the 1st race DD. So it goes… ****** On June 30th, the smart money ruled the day (at least in the 6 races I dared to make selections) starting right off in Race 1 with an unlikely favorite from Javier Negrete, who was 0-41 with Shippers for the last seven years here in Oldsmar. We were spot on with the rest of them until, in Race 7, Dominguez popped with a 2-73 angle, the 2nd off the layoff, as the second choice in the wagering by less than a click, ripping the crotch out of our Late Pick 4. We scrapped our DD and Pick 3 in the 4th (both winners) via Twitter, over a lack of value. So it goes… **** The final weekend, we had no action on Friday, missed the 6th DD by a half length on Saturday and missed one leg of the late Pick Four on Sunday (2nd naturally). That’s horseracing! So it goes… **** The week of April 26th we made just a couple of bets and caught a $605 DD and a $1080 Exacta. Like to keep the momentum going for the final weekend of the regular meeting. So it goes… **** A good day on Wed., April 19th with both plays cashing. Our $33 ATB play in the 4th returned $141.90 and our $100 exacta in the 8th returned $510.70. So it goes… **** On Saturday, April 15th, our $50 straight exacta in race 4 returned $250 and Mr. Pick Four’s late P4 $12 play returned $426.45. So it goes… **** On Friday, April 14th, we were live to a $1910 DD in the 5th and missed our $700 Saver Exacta in that race by a neck. So it goes… **** On Wednesday, April 12th, we cashed 3 nice tickets in 5 plays (across the board): 2nd in the 4th at $7.20-1, 3rd in the 6th at $39.20-1 and 2nd in the 7th at $37.30-1. So it goes… **** Over the weekend of April 7,8 & 9 we made just a handful of wagers and action players scored with the $500 trifecta in the 3rd on Sunday. So it goes… **** On Wed., April 5th we had four plays and caught the tri in R7 for $41. So it goes… **** On Sunday, April 2nd, our solitary ATB play got 2nd for a modest loss for the day. So it goes… **** On Saturday, we had no action. So it goes… **** On Friday, March 31st, I scrapped my play (off the strong action on Mo’ne Davis) then watched it click for $2593.50 after Mo’ne was DQ’d. So it goes… **** There was no action on Free Play Wed. March 29th **** On Sunday, March 26th, we caught the 3rd race Pick 3 $337.80 and just missed the late Pick 4, beaten less than a length in the 3rd leg. So it goes… **** On Saturday, March 25th we had the 3rd race Pick 3 $59.90, but out $$$ play did not meet the condition and was scrapped. So it goes.. **** On Wednesday, March 22nd, our Dutch Play in Race 6, did not meet the condition (by a deficit of about 20%). So it goes… **** On Friday, we were 2nd in both legs of our DD. So it goes… **** Over the weekend of March 18 & 19 both of our plays choked. Our exacta ran 1,4 and our win was 3rd. I was ready to get even for the meeting on Bennett’s Angel Falls, but 2-1 looked too generous so I ratcheted back to play to ordinary status. So it goes… **** On Saint Patrick’s Day, we were live to a $1139 late P4 when our runner scratched at post time, but as luck would have it, the favorite came through and we collected $$226.40 for our $36 play. So it goes… **** On Wednesday, Our big exacta wager in the 3rd failed to meet the condition when the straight exacta probable was $12 when we insisted on $18. So it goes… **** On Sunday, Mr. Pick Four clicked for $65 on his $9 Early Pick 4 ticket. So it goes… **** On Festival Day, we caught 4 of 11 including the $54.80 tri in R1, the $158 tri in the 7th, and the short 8th and Derby winners. We had a couple of near misses and one big disappointment (Inkspired). Dale Bennett just doesn’t win at $11-1 but the die was cast (in the Pick 3’s) as they say. So it goes… **** On Friday, the Key in our 5th exacta just missed the place at 37-1. So it goes… **** On Wed, some short winners for the action players again, but no $$$ plays. So it goes… **** Over the weekend (March 4 & 5), we hand a bunch of short action play winners, but the rubber band remained on the bankroll. So it goes… **** On Friday, March 3rd, action players were 2 for 2 with the 1st race exacta $21.60, 2nd race DD $31.40 and the 2nd race trifecta $59.40. Our big bet went down in flames when we were necked out of the trifecta in the 8th. So it goes… **** On Wed., March 1st – One bet, one winner. No Opponent $15.20 in the 5th. So it goes… **** On Sunday, Feb 26th we were 1 for 2 (and a scratch). Our $4 exacta bet in the 4th returned $26.80. It’s beginning to look like a hot streak. So it goes… **** Sat. Feb.  25th, we were 3 for 5 catching the 1st exacta $42.40, the 5th trifecta $52.40 and the winner of the 10th $7.40. So it goes… **** Friday, Feb 24th was a day of near misses….1-2-1 in the early Pick 3 and 1,2,4 (missed by a 1/2 length) in the 7th race trifecta. We did catch the 6th race exacta for $23 and change. However, there was no money on the table today. So it goes… **** On Thursday, the elusive 300 game eluded us no longer. We were 6-6 with our action and $$$ plays. That was long overdue. We caught all three wagers, the 3rd Exacta, the 4th DD and the 5th DD but it was a tough day to make money. We wagered $185 and collected a skimpy $377.50. So it goes… **** On Wednesday, Feb. 22nd we had a couple of short winners but no action. So it goes… **** On Sunday, Feb. 19th we focused on Trifectas and cashed two tickets: $108 in the 3rd and $619.20 in the 8th. So it goes… ***** On Saturday, Feb. 18th,  the only chalky types to finish out of the bottom half of the field was the one that beat me. But there was one bright spot. Sonoma Crush at 43-1 in the 10th figured and finished 3rd returning $8.00. So it goes… ***** On Friday , Feb 17th we had four more winners including the 3rd $6.40, 5th $5.40, 6th Exacta $25.80 and the 9th $3.20 but the real story is that Mr. Pick Four has clicked in four of the last five race days, yesterday in the early P4 for $182.70. He’s en fuego! So it goes… ***** On Thursday, we missed out on a $1000 tri ticket by a diminishing head in Race 2. So it goes… ***** On Wednesday, action players cashed in 3 of 6 with two short winners and a $63.40 exacta. So it goes… **** On Sunday, our solitary play scratched. We’ll have to wait until Wednesday. So it goes… **** On Saturday, Feb. 11th, we caught a trifecta (R2), two exactas (R10 & R11) and two Pick 3s (R11 & R12) and after all that maybe had enough money for a six-pack and a good cigar. The key in our big play missed by 2 lengths at 8-1. Mr. Pick Four had the late Pick Four returning $66.60 for his $9.00 wager. So it goes…. **** On Friday, Feb. 10th, we bet $240 on races 1-3 and collected $240. Mr. Pick Four Caught the Early Pick Four today for $103.30for his $18 wager. So it goes… **** On Thursday, Feb 9th,  our solitary play, a 9-1 shot in race 6, missed by less than a length when a $32.00 bomb surprised most. So it goes… **** On Wed. Feb 8th, action players cashed in 2 of 4 with the $18 Exacta in R1 and the $82.60 Exacta in R3. Our R4 key horse won but the unders were long and didn’t come thru. Subscribers knew that we changed our R6 play to $200 win on the winner, but it failed to meet the condition (8-5) when it went off at even money. So it goes… ***** On Sunday, we had no action. So it goes… ***** On Saturday, our only action, a $33 ATB play in the 7th returned $1537.80. So it goes… ***** On  Friday, Feb. 4th we were necked out of the 8th race Pick 3 and our 9th race tri key runner just missed its position in a blanket finish at $66-1. So it goes… ***** On Wed. Feb. 1st, Mr. Pick Four popped with a $37-1 return on his $12 early Pick Four ($427.30)(Subscribers only). Our first play in Race 1 did not meet the condition and our 4th race ATB play got up for 3rd at $12-1. Action players caught the $102 exacta in race 9 for $12. So it goes… ***** Sunday, Jan. 29th – In the 5th Stewart was trying (as the favorite) but ran out of gas costing me $2000 when all it needed was the place. We recovered in the late DD with a $580 score on our $75 wager.  In the 1st our choice did not meet the condition and romped home. So it goes… ***** Saturday, Jan. 28th – These tough beats are beginning to wear me down. Today, we were live to a $1261 ticket in the 3rd. We threw out the odds on favorite only to be beaten by an 8-1 shot. So it goes… ***** On Friday, we had the two paltry DDs in the 2nd and 3rd, but neither produced a profit. So it goes… ***** On Wednesday, a late jockey change in the 9th had us off our play. So it goes… ***** On Sunday, Our big straight exacta ran 2-1 and our big tri ran 2-1-3. So it goes… ***** On Saturday, we were 2-6 with our action plays and failed with the big $ bets again. We caught the 7th race trifecta $25.20 and the paltry late Pick 3 ($9.60). Mr. Pick four had the late P4 for $32.05 today. So it goes… ****** On Friday, Jan 20th we were 2-5 with our action plays, catching the short winner of the 3rd ($3.60) and the cold 8th race exacta box for $40.20. Our big money play ran 1-3 yet again. So it goes… ****** On Wednesday, Jan. 18th action players did alright, we were 3 for 7 with our action plays, catching the short 2nd race exacta ($11.60) and the late DD ($21.00). So it goes… ******* On Sunday, Jan. 15th we caught the 3rd race exacta for $140, and action players cashed on the 5th race Pick 3 for $79.40. Mr. Pick Four popped in the late Pick Four with an $92.65 return for $13.50. So it goes… ******* On Saturday, Jan. 14th, we liked Be Nice or Leave, but not for 3-5, so we cancelled and it missed by one. Our other play, Bridle’s Holiday in the 8th, looked like he was inside Temple Grandin’s autism “Squeeze Machine” at the break and had no chance after that. We had bookend action winners today, the opener and the nitecap. So it goes…. ******** On Friday the 13th, action players did fine when we had the winner of the 4th, $7.00 and the 6th race trifecta, $46.20. Our Exacta Key horses won four more races, but the unders failed as did our one big play on Boyce’s Super Soldier (the 2nd choice at $3.40-1). ******** On Wednesday, Jan. 11th, we backed Mr. Bennett’s Kizuna (again) and were smacked down by a couple of longshots. So it goes…. ******** On Sunday, Jan. 8th our conditional exacta in the 8th did not meet the 5-2 return condition (the $150 wager called for a $375 profit and at post time the weighted returns were only $281). Action players caught the 3rd race DD for a modest profit and in the 4th our exacta key horse scratched but the three unders combined for a $99.20 exacta when Street Rage, with a 76% ITM angle was up for 2nd at $51-1. So it goes…. ********* On Saturday, Jan. 7th, we had only one play and it romped for $9.60. Our $50 ATB play returned $415.00. So it goes… ********* On Friday, Jan. 6th, we aborted our choice in the 7th when Armoire was odds-on (and it lost), then added a conditional win play via twitter in the 8th. It failed to meet the condition and was 2nd a head. So it goes… ********* On  Wednesday, Jan. 4th, we had the right bet but the wrong outcome in our solitary $ play, simple as that. So it goes… ********* New Year’s Weekend I was down with the flu, and posted only three plays. We had short, drawing away winner Dynatail on Sunday. So it goes… ********* On Friday, Mr. Bennett became 12-14 ITM with today’s angle when Red Letter could only salvage 4th after solid action throughout. So it goes… ********* On Wed., Dec 28th, it was a good day for bombs and a not so good day for yours truly. So it goes… ********* On Friday, Dec. 23rd our $7 trifecta ticket missed by a length, but again, action players did well with two of my four action plays returning $7.20 for the win and $7.20 for the place in races 2 & 6 respectively. So it goes… ********** On Wednesday, Dec 21st, both of our conditional wager plays failed to meet the condition, but action players cashed a $60 DD in the 4th (from two of only four other selections). So it goes… ********** On Saturday, Dec. 17th we kept the rubber band tightly wrapped around the bankroll again. The next best thing to winning is not betting and watching your (would be) selections tank. So it goes… ********** On Friday, Dec.16th it was nothing ventured, nothing gained (or lost), as we sat it out with action plays only. So it goes… ********** On Wed., Dec. 14th was missed out on at least a $2000 return when our key horse won the 2nd race tri at $12.60-1 but we were necked out of the show position. So it goes… *********** Saturday, Dec. 10th was not too shabby for my action players who cashed in 5 of 9 races, but one of my backed runners was 2nd and returned our $150 wager in full, while the other was 4th. So it goes… *********** On Friday, we backed one ATB and it was 3rd. Follow us on twitter @tamselections for the late wager changes and/or cancellations. So it goes… *********** On Wednesday, Dec. 7th, we wagered $300 on the 8th (mostly win) and missed by a neck, but our saver exacta returned $362.90. So it goes… *********** On Saturday, 12/3, Cotillion Day did not go our way. We had a $6.00 Winner in the opener, a $20.60 DD in the 4th and a $17.70 Exacta in the Sandpiper. 3 for 8 on the day. Shakespeare taught us “This above all, to thine own self be true!” and we were, with adequate warning to subscribers of our frailties each year on this annual day that force feeds us ten baby races. So it goes… *********** On Friday, 12/2 we were 3 for 6 with a $28 exacta in the 4th, a $46.60 winner in the 6th and a $5.00winner in the nightcap. There were two scratched plays today. So it goes… ************ On Wednesday, Nov. 30th we put our $ down on two races and were rewarded with a $1350 payout on our $60 ATB play in the 4th. So it goes… ************ On Nov. 26th, a mixed bag. We had a couple of short winners, lost our 11-1 shot in the 6th when he was beaten by a 37-1 bomb and had three dyslexic plays (right horses, wrong order). So it goes… ************ On the first official day of the new meeting, our $33 ATB play returned $105.60 when Barbaran (with a 1% Win angle) beat our FTS by 3. So it goes… ************ The Summer Festival opens with a whimper when our Key in the 5th race Exacta won but our $200 play was cancelled when Giselle Ma Belle scratched. So it goes… ************ The final weekend of the regular meeting our action plays were right there with multiple winners and a couple of exotics (including 3 of 4 in the $10K final Pick Four of the meeting) but our big plays failed to click yet again. It was that kind of meeting. So it goes… ************ On Friday, 5/6 we were one for three with a short winner. So it goes… *********** On Saturday, 4/30, both of our big plays scratched. So it goes… ************ On Friday 4/29 after a miserable trip, Huntstown is up for 2nd in the 4th, returning $410 on our $100 ATB play. So it goes… ************ On Wed. 4/27 our $200 weighted exacta box returned $968.00. So it goes… ************ On Sunday, 4/24 we modified our R6 & R7 play via twitter and collected a $235 profit on our $200 wager. This weekend we were three for three collecting $1274.25 on our $519 in wagers. So it goes… ************ On Saturday, 4/23, one play and one winner, $9.60 in the 2nd. Our $99 ATB play returned $239.25. So it goes… ************ On Friday, our $50 ATB play returned $600 even (when Palace Barista went 5 clicks off the track record winning by 5). So it goes… ************ On Wednesday we were up the track with our solitary play. So it goes… ************* On Sunday, April 17th our big bet tanked again but our 9th race $48 Pick 3 action play clicked for $602.60. So it goes… ************* On Saturday 4/16, we made three ATB wagers and cashed two (both 2nds) virtually ending the day even. Mr. Pick Four’s Early P4 strike returned $363.00 today. So it goes…. ************* On Friday, 4/15, we were nosed out of our $100 Win bet in Race 5. So it goes… ************** On Wed. 4/13 our $100 ATB play on $48-1 shot returned $630 when it was up for 3rd. So it goes… ************** Last week (4/6-4/10), our big plays let us down again, but our action plays were right there, so on Sunday, we bet all action plays on the 10 race card and had four winners and two seconds for a modest profit on our $1000 in wagers with action on four other longshots. So it goes… *************** Last week (3/30-4/3) a mixed bag. On Wed. our win play missed by less than a length. On Friday, our bomb play took strong action and was 3rd at 4-1. Saturday, our $35 straight P3 ticket collapsed when Mr. Radar went down in flames at 3/5 odds. We had no action on Sunday with the foul weather. So it goes… **************** Over the Easter weekend, all of our plays were scrapped, either off the turf or did not meet the condition. So it goes… **************** On Wednesday, March 23rd our saver tri in R7 returned $539.40 for our $42 wager. So it goes… **************** On Friday, 3/19 smart $$$ put us off our proposed play, on Sat. 3/19 we watched our two unders click for a $37.60 exacta but our over (the 2nd choice) failed us, and on Sunday 3/20 we were live to a nice P3 in R6 but had to settle for breaking even on our saver play. So it goes… **************** On Free Play Wednesday, March 16th our $100 Win and Place play in R7 returned $1450.00. So it goes… **************** On Sunday, March 13th our $100 Win wager in Race 3 returned $380. So it goes… **************** On Saturday, our $200 exacta box in Race 2 didn’t work out when one half was there and the other (the 2nd choice) failed to get up. So it goes… ***************** On Friday, our $450 multi-race exotic play centered around the winner of the 8th returned $420. So it goes… ****************** On Wednesday, 3/9 we scrapped our play when the board tilted in favor of other runners. So it goes… ****************** On Wed. 3/2 our play did not meet the condition. On Friday, a $120 bomb put the kibosh on our big bet. Saturday our big play scratched and Sunday our $100 exacta play returned $468 while Mr. Pick 4 clicked for $115 in the late Pick 4. So it goes… ****************** Sunday, Feb. 28th was just heartbreaking. In the 2nd we wanted to make a DD wheel for a couple of hundred but the probable pay with the odds on favorite and our R3 choice was $5, killing any chance of a fruitful wheel. However, knowing it was vulnerable, I wanted to leave it out of the wheel and make a killing, making only a saver for win in R2 but I needed 8/5 to make it worthwhile but it wouldn’t budge from 3/2. Ergo, it was beaten and our choice won the 3rd handily and we missed out on the $35.40 DD pay (or $900). Feeling on, I trebled my win bet in the next race to $300 and watched it headed out of victory at 5/2. Another $1100 up in smoke. So it goes… ****************** On Saturday, our longshot exacta box in R5 ran first and last when Bank Float went +19 early, leaving our bomb to be far back and outrun. So it goes… ****************** On Friday, Feb 26th our Win bet in R5 was 2nd (beaten by the even money favorite). So it goes… ****************** On Thursday, Feb. 25th our $200 Exacta Box in R4 ran 1-3 when a Todd Quast FTS slipped in there for the place. So it goes… ****************** On Wednesday, our play scratched and on Thursday our Race 4 exacta ran 1-3. So it goes… ******************* The weekend of the 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st. On Thursday, our under in the 3rd race exacta paid $19.40 for the Win but our key runner folded up with 2 1/2 furlongs to run at $7-1. Friday in Race 7, we reduced our play by 67% when Guciardo’s piece was ice cold in the DD pool. King’s Tuesday led to the stretch at $12-1. Saturday we collected $613.80 on our $33 ATB play in race 3. We took a day off on Sunday. The card was awful. So it goes… ****************** On Wednesday, Feb. 17th our $400 play in the 4th was scrapped when they left JL Vargas in the irons and it was 3rd at 2-1, but we had a nice action play winner in the 6th, Jimmu $34.00 for the win. So it goes… ***************** On Sunday, our key runner in the 7th exacta (our only play today) was going best of all in deep stretch but was a stride late in a blanket finish. So it goes… ***************** On Saturday, we had luck with our action plays in R5 $166 Trifecta and R11 Winner $5.80, but our serious plays took the pipe. So it goes… ***************** On Friday, we were necked out of a $1000 DD return in the R3 DD, but picked up $320 for the win in Race 4. So it goes… ***************** On Wednesday, the going was tough (as expected) but Mr. Pick Four caught the Early Pick 4 when his $9 wager returned $260.80. So it goes… ***************** The weekend of Feb 5,6 & 7, saw four of our major plays scratched (off the turf) and a couple of skimpy bets on Sunday fail to get up. So it goes… ***************** On Wed. Feb 3rd our $100 R8 exacta wager returned $1000.80. Smart money on 12-1 ML runner in the 9th put us off that one and it romped. So it goes… ***************** Over the weekend (Jan. 29-31) our R7 DD ran 2-1 on Friday, on Saturday we were off the odds-on favorite in R7 (and it was beaten but not by our choice), and on Sunday our $500 exotic play was scrapped when they were taken off the turf. So it goes… ***************** On Wednesday, Jan.27th we were live to a nice DD in race 5 and a nice Pick 3 in race 7 after having both the 1st and 2nd runners in the 5th and 6th (at nice odds) before DB let us down at even money in the 5th and then Ness let us down with 3/2 favorite (and our 2nd choice scratched in the 7th). So it goes… **************** Over the weekend, we backed off a play on Saturday when the board was much too generous and on Sunday our biggest play of the meeting ($450) was 5th after an uncharacteristically poor break (trailing early on the grass). So it goes…. **************** On Friday, Jan. 22nd, we went off our R1 selection (too short), but our other play won the 2nd handily and our $99 ATB wager returned $234.30. So it goes… **************** On Wednesday, our plays scratched or did not meet the condition but we caught the Late Pick 3 for $54 on the speculation play. So it goes… **************** Over the weekend, we had just three plays. On Saturday, our lock of the day, was soundly beaten in a boxcar $16K superfecta (over a good turf course). On Sunday our W & P play was 3rd by a 1/2 at $4.40-1. So it goes… ***************** On Wednesday, Jan. 13th in the 3rd, our tweeted play returned $832.30. If you missed the tweet and went with the original play, you collected $1043.80. So it goes… ****************** On Sunday, Jan.10th, our solitary play in the 7th returned $7.20 for the win returning $180 but Ness and Bennett let us down failing to be up for even the show in a seven horse field and thereby costing us a few hundred more in winnings. We also caught the late Pick 4 for $53.00. So it goes… ****************** On Saturday, Jan. 9th, we made the right play in race 5 but it wasn’t to be after 10 year old Allie’s Event came up with a big effort off the long layoff to snatch it from our two top choices. So it goes… ****************** On Friday, Jan. 8th, we were off a couple of false favorites, and that is the only thing worth noting here. However, Mr. Pick Four caught the early Pick Four for $83 and change. So it goes… ******************* A heartbreaking loss on Wed. Jan. 6th when Vinson’s piece in Race 6, Gray Beau at $42-1 (with impeccable ITM angle credentials) broke up at least a $1000 tri payoff when the gelding took it all beating our choices for win and place by less than a length. We had a 4,6/4,6/2 $25 tri ticket and the finish was 2/6/4. So it goes… ******************* On Sunday, Jan. 3rd our R5 play met the condition by one thin dime and finished 4th. In R8 we caught a break when the condition was not met by one click and we saved $100. Ya win some, ya lose some. So it goes… ******************* On Saturday,  the average odds of our top choices was $30-1 (and they ran as the odds said they would), but among our “unders” in the exactas we had 2 winners, 2 seconds and two 3rds. The way I play, it only takes one. So it goes… ******************** On New Year’s Day our $15 ATB play in race 1 returned $123. In race 5, we made the right play, but they subjected the favorite to extraordinary pressure throughout, but KOC’s FTS was up for 2nd at long odds. +$10 for the day. So it goes… ******************** On Wednesday, our three soft exotics returned a $59.50 profit. So it goes…. ******************** On Saturday, Dec. 26th our play scratched and on Sunday, Dec. 27th we had a $9.80 winner in the 5th that produced a $285 profit. A handful of low wager speculative plays failed to a profit on Sunday. So it goes… ******************** I’m sick over Aldana Gonzalez’s $50-1 winner on Wednesday. She’s now 8-12 ITM with 2TS + Shortenups. Last week it was Scott Mckenzie’s FBK that burned us (both trainers in 2nd try with their respective angles at the meeting). That’s two that have slipped through the net now. Voyeurs note that the 2015-2016 Selections Archive is now current). So it goes… ******************** A tough weekend with nothing to show for our efforts. To add insult to injury, Scott McKenzie, who we invested $106 in on the FBK on Dec. 5th and lost, won easily on the FBK again and paid $39.20 on Sunday, while we passed him over. Gotta stick to the plan. So it goes… ******************** On Wednesday, Dec. 16th our race 1 conditional exacta box made the condition by just 2%, but ran 1-3 when big wakeup from Smock’s piece put the dud on it.  In the 4th we were headed out of a $886 return on our 10-11 exacta. Ouch! So it goes… ******************** On Saturday, Dec. 12th we were very disappointed that our choice (to just be in the money and the 2nd choice in the wagering) showed nothing and was OOM. It happens. Some jerk put all his eggs in today’s basket and was quite sore. Scared money never wins. That’s why the meeting is 92 days long. So it goes… ******************** On Friday, three speculative plays, all longshots and all finished in the middle of the pack. On the bright side, I sold the 50th copy of my book today! So it goes… ******************** On Wednesday, Dec. 9th our win wager in Race 9 failed to meet the condition (but won), but the remainder of our $55 wager returned $115.60. So it goes… ******************** On Saturday, Dec. 5th our exotic play in race 5 scratched when Hobbs (5) did not go. So it goes… All the archived plays are public and can be found by clicking “Today’s Selections” and then when redirected clicking “2015-2016 Archive”. ********************* On Friday, Dec. 4th, our top choice was uncharacteristically late for his own party, trailing early, but was rolling late but not timely enough. In any case a $64-1 shot broke up the whole shindig. So it goes… ********************** On Wednesday, we needed the place to catch our saver tri in race one but had to settle for show. So it goes… ********************* On Opening Day our solitary $100 play returned $225.80 in Race 4 (but damn there was late action on the winning combo so my weighted wager came up a bit short). So it goes… ********************* 2014-2015 Meeting Results Win 15 (7-3-2) Win 47% ITM 80% (Wager $968, Collect $999.60) ATB 12 (0-4-2) Win 0% ITM 50% (Wager $1555, Collect $1403.40) Exotics 20 for 74 (Wager $7653, Collect $10,168.90) $10,176 Total Wagered, Total Returned $12,571.90 P/L +$2495.90 (+24%) (Keep in mind, these were our 2nd tier plays. Proudly announcing an 76% profit on our Exotic Plays at the last five (5)meetings!  For 2015-2016, subscriptions will be $200 ($2 a day + tax). Same format as last season (at least one $100 play daily). FREE PLAYS ON WEDNESDAY! ******************** May 3rd – Day 90 On Sunday, Worth a Buck was a good play at 5-2 but finished 4th. So it goes… ******************** May 2nd – Day 89 On Saturday, a $61 bomb killed our exotic play, the only trainer we did not have a profile for (we’ll have to create one for Cascallares). So it goes… ********************* May 1st – Day 88 On Friday our solitary play, a $40 straight exacta in the 10th returned $996. So it goes… ********************* April 29th – Day 87 On Wednesday, our all/all tri was the right play but our 3-2 key horse finished third. Mr. Pick Four had yet another today, the Early Pick 4 for $34.50. So it goes… ********************************* April 24th-26th – Days 84-86 The chalk killed us this weekend, but Mr. Pick Four managed a modest profit when he had both Pick Four’s on Sunday. So it goes… ********************************* April 22nd – Day 83 On Wednesday, our $5 trifecta in the 5th returned $2311. So it goes… ***************************** April 18th & 19 – Days 81 & 82 Over the weekend, both of our trifectas finished 2-1-3, but we don’t make boxes. On Sunday, Mr. Pick Four’s $0.50 Late Pick 4 returned $67.20. So it goes… ***************************** April 17th – Day 80 On Friday, our selection won the 7th handily returning $4.20 for the win, but did not meet the condition by a couple of clicks. So it goes… ***************************** April 17th – Day 79 We were live to a $535 P3 today, and ended up missing with the saver tri by a head. It’s been that kinda year. So it goes… ***************************** April 10,11 & 12 – Day 76-78 Our drought ended on Sunday when our $50 R3 DD returned $269.80 but we were headed out of a 50% profit for the weekend when our Gulfstream exacta in the 7th just missed. So it goes… ****************************** April 8th – Day 75 On Wednesday, a trio of FTSs put the dud on our exotic play in the 9th after Mr. Bennett’s piece was hammered late at the windows and couldn’t get up for 3rd at even money, killing what would have been a nice return on our saver trifecta. This is not the time for “steaming”. We’ll stay the course till the end of the meeting. So it goes… ****************************** April 4th – Day 74 On Saturday, we had Ziadie in the 8th and the 11th. He won the former but was last as the BF in the latter. It was all moot as our exotics failed to click anyway. So it goes… ****************************** April 3rd – Day 73 On Friday, our exotic in the 10th was converted to an ATB play as Gift Receipt got away at 5-1, led to deep stretch and weakened in the final strides returning $5.20 for the show. So it goes… ****************************** April 1st – Day 72 On April Fool’s Day, the joke was on me when we were completely off the board. So it goes… ****************************** March 28 & 29 – Days 70 & 71 Over the weekend we wagered $232 on two exacta plays and Sunday’s play in the 8th returned $424.20. So it goes… ****************************** March 27th – Day 69 Another day without a play with an OFF TRACK and OFF TURF ripping the crotch out of today’s plays. So it goes… ****************************** March 25th – Day 68 On Wednesday, we went off our play when the action in the pools looked all wrong, then the nag scratched at 2 min to post. So it goes… **************************** March 20-22 Days 65, 66 & 67 Over the weekend, our five shot revolver fired four blanks, cashing only a place and show ticket on Huamantla in Race 6 on Sunday and returning $150.50 on that $99 wager. On Saturday, one slipped thru the net, Galvan 6-11 ITM angle paid $55.00 for win. Mea culpa! So it goes… ********************************** March 18th – Day 64 On Wednesday, in the 2nd, we learned that Baltazar Galvan is a straight shooter and in the 5th, we had the horses with all the action but they disappointed. So it goes… ****************************** March 15th – Day 63 On Sunday, the Delacour firster in the 4th failed to pop, no shame there. Our choice in the 7th, missed the place by a couple of lengths, but it was a good exotic bet in a wide open race (as the prices ultimately revealed). So it goes… ************************* March 14th – Day 62 Both  of our exotic plays were hammered down today, so we passed on both. In Race 3 a FTS bomb saved us $$$ and in the 8th you got rewarded with a 5-2 payoff on the exacta (if u stuck with it). Mr. Pick Four’s $20 late Pick 4 returned $29.50. A few dollars more and you could stop for dinner at the Golden Corral. So it goes… ********************* March 13th – Day 61 On Friday, our exotic play in the 6th scratched. So it goes… ********************** March 11th  Day 60 On Wednesday, we were necked out of our saver tri when One Way Talk finished up close but 4th at 16-1. So it goes… ********************** March 8th – Day 59 On Sunday, we had the winner in the 9th at 7-1, so we live to see another day. So it goes… *********************** March 7th – Day 58 Saturday, we looked for some value (going off the Win bet on Songsational, $3.40 for the Win) but four bombs put the dud on the plan, but Mr. Pick Four’s late $0.50 P4 returned $64.35. So it goes… ************************ March 6th – Day 57 On Friday, I wasn’t playing, but the race of our selection was OFF THE TURF and there were two scratches in our exotic saver. I wouldn’t have taken it if it won, and I won’t eat it either. So it goes… ************************ March 4th – Day 56 On Wednesday, KABOOM! Our $149 wager returned $1761.50.  We also had the short winner in the 6th, Little Miss Perfect. So it goes! ************************* March 1st – Day 55 On Sunday, we knew that the inside bias over the drying surface would be a factor in our race so we cancelled our wager (on the paltry $6 exacta, by the way), but we didn’t think it would manifest itself in the DQ of the odds-on favorite, but greedy Gallardo wanted the rail for the stretch run and it cost him. So it goes… *************************** Feb. 28th – Day 54 On a cold and rainy Saturday, they were off the turf and in the slop, cancelling today’s plays. So it goes… *************************** Feb. 27th – Day 53 On Friday we were nosed out of our Race 2 Pick 3, but our single in the 4th won and paid $6.60. So it goes… **************************** Feb. 26th – Day 52 Our $100 exotic play returned $326.40 today, and our conditional play in the nitecap won, but failed to make the condition by two clicks. So it goes… **************************** Wed., Feb. 25th – Day 51 Our conditional play won but was to short and our exotic was off the board. So it goes… ****************************** Feb. 20-22 – Days 48,49 & 50 Over the three day weekend, we wagered $536 and collected $515.20. So it goes… ******************************* Feb. 19th – Day 47 On Thursday, neither of our conditions was met and we saved big $$$. So it goes… ******************************* Feb. 18th – Day 46 On Wednesday, a good exacta wager that ran 1-3, but the saver came thru for $103.50. So it goes… ******************************** Feb. 15th – Day 45 When you can’t win a race with a 3-5 or an 1-1, it’s just not your day.  That was Sunday’s story. So it goes… ******************************** Feb. 14th – Day 44 On Valentine’s Day, Queen Joan came through (unexpectedly in the 1st) but our saver tri returned $411.60. So it goes… ********************************* Feb. 13th – Day 43 On Friday RB + UC winner Pacific Image (at $6-1) put the dud on our Exacta play. So it goes…. ********************************* Feb. 12th – Day 42 On Thursday, I aborted on Cee N O in the 8th (with a couple of minutes left). Another angle. Ness had only one winner above 7-1 in L3T. 26-1 was a sure sign of failure. So it goes… ************************* Feb. 11th – Day 41 On Wednesday, four nice winners and nothing to show for it. Two scratches in the 3rd and a FTS winner killed a $1500 Pick 4 for us and up close finish in the 5th and 6th race DD at $8.50-1 by Billy White Shoes also hurt. So it goes… **************************** Feb. 8th – Day 40 On Sunday, our 3rd race selection did not meet the condition and our 7th race play was scratched. So it goes… ***************************** Feb. 7th – Day 39 On Saturday, they were off the turf, putting the kibosh of our play in the nitecap. So it goes…. ***************************** Feb. 6th – Day 38 A painful loss on Friday when our top choice won at 4-1 and the 6-5 favorite with all the action failed to get up for a piece, putting us back to even for the meeting. Not to worry. We’ll get’em. So it goes… *************************** Feb. 5th – Day 37 On Thursday, we scrapped the play when the short exacta was $6 in the last minute. It won easily, but we don’t bet $102 to collect $133. So it goes… *************************** Feb. 4th – Day 36 On Wednesday, a couple of 2nd in our exotics and that was it. So it goes…. **************************** Jan. 31st and Feb. 1st – Days 34 & 35 Over the weekend we bet $314 on three exactas and collected $289. So it goes… **************************** Jan. 30th – Day 33 On Friday, a good bet and a so-so outcome. We played three Pick 3s, caught the middle one for $89.60 and missed the first and last P3s with 2nds in the only legs we missed. So it goes… **************************** Jan. 28th – Day 32 On Wednesday, I got spooked when the 5 broke through the gate pre-start and cancelled my $600 personal wager, but here on the blog, it’s water under the bridge. RoHo burned me all day today. So it goes… ***************************** Jan. 25th – Day 31 On Sunday, we looked for a bomb and got the shortest tri on the board, but we had the ticket twice when Bennett’s rank layoff flipped in the gate and scratched late. We collected $218 for our $103 wager today. So it goes… ***************************** Jan. 24th – Day 30 On Saturday, an Oreo sandwich, after a bomb provided the filling for our broken up exacta (1-3). So it goes… ****************************** Jan. 21st – Day 28 On Wednesday, our exacta tanked but our W & P wager on Tairneach returned $305 for $100. So it goes… ****************************** Jan. 18th – Day 27 On Sunday, we cashed one of two exactas and broke even for the day. So it goes… ******************************* Jan. 17th – Day 26 Saturday’s exotic play was scrapped when Big Reward scratched. So it goes… ******************************** Jan. 16th – Day 25 It took 25 days but finally we are seeing a green bottom line. Our $76 weighted exacta key box in the 6th returned $621.60 today and we are now up 8%. So it goes… ********************************* Jan. 14th – Day 24 On Wednesday, we went off our exotic play for $100 ATB on our top choice and made $140 profit for our trouble. So it goes… ********************************* In order to be profitable, we require a strike rate of only 28% and we are presently at 19%, but our game tends to improve as the intel (quirin pars, bias reports, trip notes and more) begin to paint a clearer picture, as the less predictable initial weeks of the meeting are out of the way and the more reliable meat and potato months of the meeting serve up the entrees. Stay with us. ********************************** Jan. 10th and 11th – Days 22 & 23 Over the weekend, Ness’ 15-1 shot in the Turf Dash was outgunned in track record setting race, but finished a respectable four lengths behind for the show (and that was all we needed), then we had the two real contenders in the 9th on Sunday but a couple of bombs shut us down. So it goes… ********************************** Jan. 9th – Day 21 We had two of the longest on the board in the 8th race exacta and both of these high % trainers failed to fire. So it goes… ********************************** Jan. 7th – Day 20 On Wednesday, we missed a nice score when Ziadie’s $0.60-1 favorite failed to hit the board (4th). Our win play in the 5th finished 3rd. So it goes… ********************************** Jan. 4th – Day 19 On Sunday, we were necked out of a $500 win ticket in the 4th, but our Exacta play in the 8th returned $549.50. Kevin’s $12 late Pick Four also clicked today for $61.00. So it goes… ********************************** Jan. 3rd – Day 18 On Saturday, we were headed out of a $1400 exacta ticket in the 6th. So it goes…. *********************************** Jan. 2nd – Day 17 On Friday, our 4th race play was scratched when Livin Large did not go. So it goes… *********************************** Dec. 31st – Day 16 On Wednesday, short odds and an off track caused us to cancel today’s play. So it goes… ************************************ Dec. 28th – Day 15 On Sunday, a half a loaf again when Abiding Love won the 9th handily, but the favorite, Juliebrowneyes, with no excuse, was OOM. So it goes… ************************************ Dec. 27th – Day 14 On Saturday we were necked out of the Race 3 & 4 Daily Double. So it goes… ************************************* Dec. 26th – Day 13 On Friday, I edited my original play (as it was, after all, an ITM angle and not a win angle) and it cost us a couple of hundred bucks when Call Me Back won the 9th handily, but the $30 saver Win bet returned $201. So it goes… ************************************* Dcc. 21st – Day 12 On Sunday, in the 6th, Mecke Mantle upset at 8-1, but our key runner finished up close. So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 20th – Day 11 On Saturday, we had a handy winner in the 3rd that returned $8.60, but were necked out of the Pick 3.  Mr. Pick Four’s $13.50 early Pick 4 wager returned $164.50. Way to go Kevin! Merry Christmas! So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 19th – Day 1o On Friday, we got a nice 2nd from longshot Amaicing Gerry, but he was no match for sharp breaking wire to wire winner from McCarthy barn. In the 2nd half of our deceased daily double, chalky Woodard runner was a dud. So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 17th – Day 9 Shame on you if you bet Mr. Bennett’s FTS at 3-2 odds or Dale’s piece at 15-1. I’ll count the loss, but cancelling this wager was a no brainer. So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 13th – Day 8 On Saturday, we were right that there would be a bomb in the nitecap, but we didn’t anticipate two. So it goes… ************************************** Dec.12th – Day 7 Our $50 straight exacta was a runaway and returned $710.00 today. So it goes…. ************************************** Dec.10th – Day 6 Dacosta had a killer angle today but it was not to be for Magic Luck, 4th at $7-1. So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 6th – Day 5 The classic Meatloaf tune says “two outa three ain’t bad” but that doesn’t work for Pick 3’s. We had two of three in the Pick 3 today and finished up close at $13-1 with the one that missed. So it goes… ************************************** Dec. 5th – Day 4 On Friday, we settle for a half a loaf again as our exacta crashed and burned. So it goes… *************************************** Dec. 3rd – Day 3 On Wednesday, in the 2nd, Mr. Wirth’s piece held up his end at $9-1, but the even money favorite failed to get up with Roho in the irons. So it goes… **************************************** Nov. 29th – Day 2 On Opening Day, our 8th race exacta key box ran 1-3. So it goes… ***************************************** July 1st – Day 1 Our solitary summer festival selection won and paid $4.40 *****************************************
